Joel "Jobear" Barachiah Wilburn

Joel “Jobear” Barachiah Wilburn, age 40 of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 9, 1975 in New Castle, Indiana to Daniel (wife, Teena) Wilburn of Kokomo and Connie (Turner) McGinnis of Greenfield.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was also, an avid Colts and NASCAR fan, his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. Joel was a big “Teddy Bear”, he loved his family and was a loving husband, father, son and friend. He also enjoyed woodworking, collecting knives and tinkering with his dirt bike. Joel was very helpful, and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was survived by his wife, Sandra Wenner of Greenfield; children, Haley Wilburn of Greenfield, and Emily Jo Wilburn of Cincinnati; siblings, Hilary Wilburn (companion, Mike Jones) of Greenfield, Shelley Wilburn of Portland, and Marc D. Wilburn of New Castle; nieces and nephews, Sarah Bertram of Fort Wayne, Jaycee Wilburn of New Castle, Michael, Colton, and Brooklyn Jones all of Greenfield; two great nieces and several cousins, aunts and uncles; his little Jack Russell “Drake”.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Chester Turner; maternal grandmother, Frances Lowe Smalley; paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary (Herron) Wilburn; mother-in-law, Carol Wenner.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Norman Nicholas officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
