John Wayne Armstrong Sr.

December 9, 1960 — July 3, 2019

John Wayne Armstrong, Sr., 58, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born December 9, 1960 in Ohio, a son of William and Martha Armstrong.

John had worked at Shelby Tires for 20 years, Kahlo in Knightstown for 5 years and co-owned Knightstown Tire for 5 years. He enjoyed camping, 4 wheeling, bluegrass music, working on cars and visiting family in Kentucky.

He is survived by two sons, Charlie (Holli) Armstrong of New Albany and John Armstrong, II of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Emily Armstrong, Madison Tompkins, Deacon Armstrong and Isabella Armstrong; mother, Martha Shorey of Carthage; siblings, Billy (Darla) Armstrong of Rushville, Lawrence (Daisy) Armstrong of Rushville, Florence (Scott) Manning of Holiday, FL, Paul Williams of Carthage, Gayla (Ronnie) Heldebrand of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Armstrong.

Services will be at 7:00 PM Monday, July 8, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until time of service. Condolences and memories of John may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
