John Robert Himes, age 48, of Spiceland, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 15, 1964 in Findlay, Ohio to John H. and Susan (Smith) Himes.
He was a veteran of the United State Air Force stationed in Yakota, Japan. He enjoyed working on cars and NASCAR races. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge #142.
Survivors include his father, John H. Himes of New Castle; son, Anthony Himes of New Castle; daughter, Crystal Himes of New Castle; two sisters, Dawn (husband, James) Kanatzer and Michelle Himes both of New Castle; three nieces and one nephew; former wife, Vicky Himes of New Castle.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Himes.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Reverend Paul Kirk officiating. Burial will be at South Mound Cemetery-Legion Hill. Memorial contributions may be given to the John Robert Himes Memorial Fund, c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S. Memorial Dr., New Castle, IN 47362 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
