Johnny C. Flowers, age 62, of New Castle, passed away, Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Henry County Hospital. He was born December 18, 1946 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Johnnie Sam and Thelma Louise (Cross) Flowers.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a past member of the VFW #1282 in New Castle. He was a gun and knife enthusiast and loved to play card games with his family. Johnny enjoyed and cherished all his nieces and nephews. He was a devoted son to his parents and took care of his mother until her passing.
Survivors include a sister: Debbie Palacios of New Castle; several nieces and nephews: Nicole (husband: Jack) Mettert of New Castle, Kim Mil (companion: Sam Caldwell of Lewisville, Louise Huddleston (partner: David Coon) of Cambridge City, Johnny (wife: Lisa) Huddleston of Hagerstown and Patricia Huddleston (companion: Paul Borck) of Cambridge City; several great nieces and nephews: Trinity, Keirra, Corbin, Ben, Crystal, Chris, Brandon, Drew, Cheyenne, Heather, Coy, Josh, Dylan, Onika, Makayla, Bump, Dalton and Lillymya.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Bennie Huddleston.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Tim Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition where military rites will be conducted. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 at the funeral home.
