Jon L. Bogue, 77, of Spiceland, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born February 24, 1939 in Spiceland, Indiana.
Jon was a 1957 graduate of Spiceland High School and served in the U.S. Marines from 1960-1964. He was a flight instructor for United Airlines from 1977-1981, and was a pilot for Ryan International Airlines from 1981-1996. Following his career as a pilot, Jon became an over the road truck driver, driving for Roehl Transport and Fraley- Schilling, retiring in 2009.
He is survived by his cousins, including, Rex Wright of Spiceland, Wayne (Pat) Bogue of Spiceland, Paul (Jeanene) Bogue of Fountaintown, Carlene Creviston of Mooreland, and Karen Lackey of Indianapolis; and Jon’s best friends, Vicki and Shane McCorkle and their family of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ruth (Truitt) Bogue; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. noon on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with funeral services at 12:00 p.m. noon officiated by Reverend George Maloyed, Jr. Burial will follow at Circle Grove Cemetery.
