Joseph Borden

Joseph L. “Joey” Borden, age 30, of Dunreith, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in Henry County Hospital. He was born March 24, 1979 in Wytheville, VA, a son of Bert and Teresa (Nease) Borden.

Joey was a 1997 graduate of Tri High School where he played football and was in the Skilled Building Trades Program, which gave him his love of building and construction. Joey very much enjoyed spending time with his dog and best friend Oreo.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Teresa (husband, Jerry) Callihan of Argillite, KY; his father, Bert (companion: Leann Brumbaugh) Borden of Lewisville; a sister, Sandy (husband, James) York of Muncie and a brother, Eric (wife, Barb) Carr of Elizabethtown, KY; two nephews, to whom he was very close, Michael Kline and Johnny Prince; two nieces, Audrey York and Tara Beaty; a great niece, Gracelynne Beaty; two aunts, Jean (husband, Jim) Christian of Sunbury, OH and Patty (husband, Charlie) Magee of Spiceland, cousins, Amy and Greg Magee, Lisa and Emily Rains, all of Spiceland and Katie and Chris Christian of Ohio; and a special aunt & uncle Donnell Stewart & Bob Burton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Geneva Nease, and paternal grandparents, Richard Borden and Alice Phelps.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. noon, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
