Joseph “Joe” Allen Wise, age 86, of Lake Wales, Florida and formerly of Mooreland passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Wales, FL, Monday, October 12, 2015 with his family present, following an extended illness of several years. He was born June 12, 1929 in Mooreland, Indiana to the late Orval Benton and Eva Louise (Flinn) Wise.
He retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle after 30 plus years of service. He loved to fish in Canada, Michigan, and at Crooked Lake, which was right out his back door in Florida. Joe served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren as they were growing up and went to any activities of theirs that he could. He continued this with the great grandchildren also, and was the “family photographer” of all important family events. He was known for his “award-winning smile,” as he called it. Joe told us he was “just a handsome guy.”
