Joyce Blattner

Joyce Blattner, age 80, of New Castle, went to be with her heavenly father, Friday, July 2, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 19, 1930 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Vaughn and Delota (Turner) Tully.

She was a 1948 graduate of New Castle High School. In 1952 she married Louis Blattner in Manhattan, Kansas. Joyce began a medical career while working at the Henry County Hospital. Later she was a medical secretary for Dr. A. J. May, Dr. Joseph Grider and the Henry County Clinic doctors, where she retired. She was also employed by Indiana Bell Telephone Company for several years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in New Castle. Joyce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Louis Blattner of New Castle; sons, Eric (wife, Tammy) Blattner of New Castle and John Christopher (wife, Sonda) Blattner of Kokomo; grandchildren, Whitney (wife, Robbin) Blattner, Joshua Blattner of Pt. Arther, FL, Ryan Blattner, Kara Blattner of Kokomo; step grandson, Michael Cole; step granddaughter, Autumn Cole; great grandchildren, Shelbi Blattner, Tyler Blattner and Isabelle Blattner of Kokomo; two step great grandchildren, Brandi Carnes and Kristafer Carnes; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Richard Tully and infant brother, Max Tully.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Denny Neal officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at the funeral home.
