Joyce Ann Sinischo, 77, of Mays, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born March 9, 1947 in Richmond, the daughter of Martha and George Whitesitt.
After graduating from Mays High School in 1966, Joyce graduated from Anderson Cosmetology School and enjoyed cutting hair. Joyce was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She loved spending her time crafting, cross stitching, gardening, and making memories with her grandchildren. She also spent several years offering to babysit for local children. Joyce had a soft heart for children and showed love to each child as if they were her own. She especially enjoyed watching all 9 of her grandchildren.
She was often found mastering recipes and baking for her family and neighbors. Joyce was known for welcoming all the local children in the neighborhood. Everyone wanted to spend the day at Grandma Joyce's house. In addition, Joyce and her husband, John, were often seen taking evening cruises to visit with friends and family. When she wasn't with her family, Joyce was notorious for staying up too late watching Jimmy Fallon and sitting on her porch. Joyce will be remembered for her contagious smile and welcoming heart.
She is survived by her husband, John Sinischo of Mays; a brother, Joe (Debbie) Whitesitt of Knightstown; daughters, Margaret Davis (Drew Springman) of Rushville, Annie (Brandon) Cross of Mays; son, John A.
