Juanita Caldwell, age 83, of New Castle entered Heaven to join her family on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. She was born April 30, 1930 in Stearns, Kentucky to the late Burl and Helen (Miller) Roberts.
She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle. Juanita’s specialty was cooking and loved to cook for others. She spent many years cooking for family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Stephen) Nichols of Muncie and Vicky Alsip of New Castle; four granddaughters, Chessea, Casey and Isabelle “Elly” Nichols all of Muncie and Taylor Alsip of New Castle, a grandson, Tanner Alsip of New Castle; two sisters, Jessie Wilson of Monticello, KY and Norma Jones of Muncie; niece, Irene Turner, who was like her sister, of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gregory in 1985; a brother, Herstel Roberts; sisters, Elsie Kidd, Mary Holden, Dorothy Dobbs, Carol Taulbee, and Shirley Stacy.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 131 S. 26th Street New Castle, IN 47362, with Pastor Don Silvers officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 – 7 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
