Juanita Riggs

Juanita R. Riggs, 82, passed away Friday, September 05, 2008 at Edgewater Woods of Anderson. She was born July 10, 1926 in Madison County, Indiana to the late Guy and Mildred (Craig) Bolen.

She had been employed as an LPN at Henry County Hospital. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Shirley Elevator and Dr. Tenant Chiropractor in Shirley. She had been a member of the Shirley Order of the Eastern Star and the Center Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a girl scout leader and Sunday School teacher for many years and also was in charge of Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed playing the piano.

Survivors include her husband: Gerald Lee Riggs whom she married April 29, 1944; children: Linda Kay Razmic of Albany, Larry Riggs of Markleville, Vickie (husband: Kip) Jones of Sulphur Springs and Marcia (husband: Randy) Jones of New Castle; seven grandchildren; Tammy Samuel, Conny Knight, Darcy Cooper, Richard Riggs, Jeremy, Wes and Kindsey Jones; three step grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son: Richard; two grandchildren: Ronnie Lee and Molly Riggs; and a son-in-law: John Razmic.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Cradles Christian Daycare Center with envelopes available at the funeral home.
