Judith Ann Robbins

Judith Ann Robbins, 92, of New Castle passed away Tuesday evening, January 3, 2023 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born November 15, 1930 in Henry County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Dwight and Ada Shepherd.

Judy was a 1948 graduate of New Castle High School, where she was a leader on the class of 1948 reunion committee. She loved attending high school basketball events with family and keeping her own stats. Judy was a member of the New Castle chapter of Phi Beta Psi for many years. She was a founding member of Henry County Cancer Society. Judy was a longtime, active member of First Baptist Church in New Castle, and served on multiple committees.

She was involved in the Henry County Republican Party, serving as vice chairman for many years. Judy served two terms as Henry County Auditor from 1971-1978 and worked in the Auditor’s office from 1960-1978. She retired as a Paralegal in 2013 from Jim Millikan Law Office.

Survivors include her children, Kirk R. (Kathy) Robbins and Jean S. Robbins; grandchildren, Kyle (Caity) Robbins, Kaylee (Thomas) Oakes; and great grandchildren, Mason Robbins, Nora & Ella Oakes; and a brother, James E. (Jean) Shepherd.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Robbins on September 24, 2022; a daughter, Teresa “Terry” Lee Robbins; and brothers, Dale & Paul Shepherd.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
