Judith E. Savage, 70, of Mt. Summit passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie. She was born October 5, 1944 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Major M. and Thelma G. (Hibbard) Sidwell.
A graduate of Mt. Summit High School, she earned her Associate Degree from Ball State University. Judy retired from Brooks Foods in 1997 and had also worked at Diamond Container. She loved traveling and spending time at her second home in Florida. She also enjoyed line dancing, NASCAR races, going on cruises and spending time with her granddaughters.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of nearly 51 years, James E. Savage, whom she married December 21, 1963; son: James Brian (Sheila) Savage of Morristown; daughter: Lisa June Savage (Ben Locke) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Madison Nicole Savage and Vivian Eisley Locke; sister, Joanne Land of Celina, Ohio; two brothers, Dallas Sidwell of New Castle and Larry Sidwell of Florida and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashlyn Reese Savage, four siblings, Donald Sidwell, Ed Sidwell, Norma Toloday and Phyllis June Shively
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Reverend Mark O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Cancer Society, 1909 Walnut Street, New Castle, IN 47362.
