Julia E. (Wright) Dobbs, age 95 of New Castle, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Henry County Hospital. She was born September 17, 1913 in Henderson, Kentucky.
She retired from the New Castle State Hospital in 1975 after 19 years of service. She enjoyed taking trips with her family.
Survivors include seven children: Betty (husband: Robert) Goble, Marilyn (husband: Duke) Upchurch, Robert D. Dobbs all of New Castle, Paul (wife: Delores) Dobbs of Springfield, MO, Carolyn (husband: David) Crabtree of Greenfield, Marty (husband: Tommy) Jones of New Castle, and Ronnie (wife: Arland) Dobbs of Kokomo; nineteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Dewitt Dobbs; a daughter: Mary Catherine Dobbs; half brother and half sister.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Chicago Corner Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Henry County Heart Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
