Julie Defibaugh, age 72 of New Castle, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born May 25, 1943 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Raymond and Dorothy (Albright) Christ.
She was a 1961 graduate of Richmond High School. Julie was a parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church for over 40 years and was a member of the St. Anne Society. She had worked in the health care industry in New Castle for over 40 years.
Survivors include her children, Susan (John) McBeath of Indianapolis, Robyn (Bryan) Brenneman of New Castle, Valerie Defibaugh of Anderson, Bob Defibaugh of New Castle; grandchildren, Tonya (Jordan) Gelsomini, Katelyn McBeath, Megan Brenneman, Casey McBeath, and Aniya Defibaugh; a great grandson, Brayde Gelsomini; a sister, Judith McKay of Auburn, NY and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Defibaugh and a brother-in-law, Frank McKay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Joe Rautenberg and Deacon Russ Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
