June M. Burkhart

June M. Burkhart, age 82, of New Castle, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 9, 1930 in Owingsville, Kentucky to the late Chester Thomas and Laura Mae (Warren) Razor.

June had worked as an office manager for Dr. James Easter, retiring in 1989 after over 20 years of service. She was a member of Altrusa Club where she served as president from 1987-1988. She was also a sponsor for Astra Club from 1985-1988. She also participated in Bible Study Fellowship for over 10 years. She and her husband were members of the Ambassadors and active in fundraising campaigns which started the Henry County Art Center. June also worked at the Henry County Historical Society. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wilbur Wright Birthplace Memorial, and Friends of the Library.

Survivors include a son: Michael N. Burkhart of New Castle; a sister: Juanita (Orville) Martin of Middletown, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harry J. Burkhart in 2001; and two brothers: Kenneth Neil and Merle Razor.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
