Karen Ann Thomas, 68, of Kennard went to be with Jesus Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Hancock Regional Hospital following an extended illness. She was born November 2, 1944 in Shelbyville the daughter of Charles R. and Verah (Kyser) Glisson.
She was co-owner of Karen’s Kreations and a longtime employee of Beverly’s Flowers in Shirley. Karen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and her dog, Bailey. She was a huge supporter of her grandson’s band and loved the mountains of Gatlinburg.
Karen leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Janette (Kenny) Cullison of Kennard; grandson: Jacob (Hannah) Cullison of Middletown; brother: Jerry (Marilyn) Glisson of Kennard; sister: Melinda (Danny) Tompkins of Kennard; nieces and nephews: Brian, Kerry, Michelle and Chip; two aunts: Barbara Kyser of Greenfield; Mary Carolyn Galliher of Anderson; special kids: Damon Doubman of Kennard, Samantha (Bobby) Wood of Knightstown, Sarah (Jon) Engle of Noblesville, Heidi Wells of Knightstown, Brandon Fribley of New Castle, Andy (Shantell) Ebbert of Shirley, Eric Austin of Shirley, Nicole (Melvin) Alexander of Grant City, and Carlie (Sandy) Alexander of Shirley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Gordon Thomas and a grandson: Bryce Cullison.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow in Hicksite Cemetery in Greensboro. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday. You may express a condolence or share a memory of Karen at
