Kathleen P. "Kathy" Burris

Kathleen P. “Kathy” Burris, 77, of New Castle passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Henry Community Health in New Castle, Indiana. She was born on July 30, 1945 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Grant and Mary (Twilliger) Radaker.

Kathy and David owned B&B Petroleum for 30 years and retired in 1999. She was an active member in her church, participating in lady’s ministry groups, teaching children’s Sunday School class and singing in the choir. She enjoyed the ladies Bible study group at First Baptist Church. She also attended Grand Avenue Baptist Church. After retirement Kathy became a substitute teacher for several years. David and Kathy enjoyed traveling and vacationing with their close friends for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and especially her grandchildren supporting them in all of their activities. Kathy was also a member of the Trojan Booster Club.

Kathy is survived by her husband, David Burris, whom she married on July 31, 1965; sons, Scott (Jackie) Burris and Steve (Lisa) Burris; grandchildren, Patrick Burris, Christian Burris, Sydney (fiancé Dakota Cole) Burris and Blake Burris; brother, Don (Kathy) Radaker.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by in-laws, Ralph and Beulah Burris; nephews, Tal Radaker and Tyler Radaker.

Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Tony Piper, Charles Dugger and Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
