Kathryn M. Gregory

February 1, 1943 — December 27, 2022

Kathryn M. (Binion) Gregory, 79, of New Castle passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent’s in Anderson with her husband, Kenny, by her side.

Kathy was born to Frank and Carrie Binion on February 1, 1943, in Lansing, Michigan. She grew up in New Castle, Indiana, and graduated from Chrysler High School in 1962.

Kathy met her husband, Kenneth R. Gregory, in high school. They were married on April 18, 1964, and were blessed with their daughter, Kimberly Dawn, in 1969.

As a family, they resided in Warrington and Markleville, Indiana, where they remained close to lifelong friends and family. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother “Nanny,” Kathy worked and retired from Firestone in Noblesville, Indiana.

Kathy was a very social creature who enjoyed membership, fellowship, and monthly luncheons with her “Red Hat Girls,” the Eastern Star (Markleville Chapter), her “High School Girls,” and fellow Firestone retirees, with whom she never lost touch.

Kathy had an unwavering faith in God which only grew stronger in her final years. She is survived by her husband, Kenny, grandson, Jackie Hernandez; granddaughters, Amanda Clendenin, Chyna ‘LeAnne’ Hernandez, Jadelyn Hernandez, Courtney Fesler; great-granddaughters, Cheyenne Hartzell and Estella Hernandez; great-grandson, Leland Maddox. Also, surviving are her twin sister, Carolyn Kidwell of Kokomo, Indiana, sister, Jody Ferguson (husband Mel) of Vancouver, Canada, sisters-in-law Fran and Vickie Gregory, her best friend, Helen McKinley of Markleville; her special girls, Kimmielane, Karen, Debbi, and Angie, and “her boys,” Tom True, Bobby Hernandez and Randall Clendenin. Kathy is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her big presence will be missed, but everyone who knew her should rejoice in knowing she is at peace as she joins her beloved daughter Kimmie (June 5, 2020) in Heaven, where they are sure to spend their days laughing, dancing, and celebrating with those who prepared her heavenly home for her.

In addition to her parents and daughter, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Billy Binion; a sister Louise McCorkle, her parents-in-law Jesse and Mary Gregory, brothers-in-law Jim and Crick Gregory, sister-in-law Linda Gregory; and beloved nephew Tony Huckeby.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
