Kathryn Lynn “Happy” Pierce, age 62, passed away on August 11, 2024, at her residence in Straughn, Indiana. She was born on August 14, 1961 in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of Bill and Deena (Sheets) Williams.
Kathy was a 1979 graduate of Tri High School. She worked at ICAP Head Start for many years and drove a school bus for New Castle School Corp. Since 1980, she was a devoted and faithful member of the South Side Church of Christ. She was a longtime Sunday School teacher and would always be seen around the church lending a helping hand on any project she could, including funeral dinners or even feeding the pet of an ill member. Kathy was a happy and giving soul, who loved people, especially her family, whom she would often host family gatherings for, and animals, especially Colt, Buddy, Frank, Pickles, and Guyute. She had an array of passions and interests, including yard work, tending flowerbeds, and gardening, the results of which she would often share with others. She enjoyed collecting a variety of knick-knacks accumulated throughout her walk of life. She was also a fan of classic cars and hotrods, often attending car shows and the James Dean Festival.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bob Pierce; children, Aaron Pierce and Brandon (Brooke) Pierce; third son, Justin Gaddis; granddaughters, Ruby Pierce and Addy Bass, parents; Bill and Deena Williams; brothers, Steve Williams, Scott (Kristi) Williams, Billy Williams (Melissa Roberts); a brother-in-law, Jeff Pierce; sister-in-law, Elaine Morgan; special aunts, Sandra Pierce, Shirley Daniels, Helen Sheets; special cousins, Patty Garrity and Chris Leath; loving friends and devoted caregivers, Sandra Pierce, Dana Ellison, and Tracy Sampley.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Williams; father and mother-in-law, John and Euldean Pierce and her best-friend, Tammy Collis.
Services for Kathy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pat McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 16 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Side Church of Christ, 2805 S. State Rd 103 New Castle, IN 47362.
