Kathy Davis

Kathy Jean Davis, 50, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord and received her new body Monday, January 18, 2010 unexpectedly at her home. She was born December 31, 1959 in Albany, KY the daughter of Georgia “Kathleen” Bise of Greenfield and the late Louis Cochran.

Kathy was co-founder and member of Open Arms Church in New Castle. She loved church and especially praise and worship. She loved to write cards and was known as the “Card Lady” at church. She was valedictorian of her GED class from Chrysler High School and was formerly employed by Diamond Container in New Castle. Kathy was a good cook; her specialty was turkey and ham. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid collector of Boyds bears and angels. Kathy was a strong woman who loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them especially shopping with her children.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband: Reverend Paul Davis of New Castle; two sons: Scotty (wife: Kelly) Davis of Indianapolis; Reverend Brock (wife: Brittany) Davis of New Castle; grandchildren: Carmen and Corbin Davis of New Castle; brother: David Bise of New Castle; mother and father-in-law: Bill and Jewel Davis of New Castle; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lonnie (wife: Gayle) Davis of New Castle; Patti Scholl of New Castle; Debbie (husband: Ted) Alcorn of New Castle; Sharon (husband: David) Branham of Kokomo; Gary Wayne Davis of New Castle; Reverend Rick (wife: Angie) Davis of New Castle; Lisa (husband: Jeff) Miller of New Castle; David “Dugan” Davis of New Castle; Wendy Bell (companion: Brian Hinshaw) of New Castle; special friends: Maria, Maureen, Penny, Brenda, Teresa, Beverly, Shalinda, and Vicki Johnson; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father: Louis Cochran; maternal grandmother: Mary Perdue; sister-in-law: Kathy Dicken; and cousin: Mary Denton.

A celebration of life will be at 6:00 PM Friday, January 22, 2010 at Open Arms Church in New Castle. Please bring your favorite photo/memory to the celebration of Kathy’s life on Friday. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
