Kathy (Porter) Rollins, age 71, of Spiceland went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2022, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Kathy was born to Chester (Chet) and Helen Porter in Kendallville, Indiana and was a 1969 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She also graduated from Purdue/Fort Wayne in 1992 with a BS in Psychology. Kathy loved to make things with her hands. She knitted scarves, hats and mittens, donating them to Riley Children’s Hospital and Peyton Manning Hospital. As an avid quilter, she made many quilts and other quilted items. Kathy also loved to go fishing, gardening and being outdoors. She also devoted a lot of time helping during times of, need by the Indiana State Police family.
Kathy is survived by her husband Larry; her son Alan (Cindy) Brooks of Spiceland, brother, Rick (Deb) Porter of East Providence, Rhode Island; sister, Sally (Porter) Day of Noblesville, Indiana and brother, Gary Porter of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Hannah Brooks, Evan Brooks, Jordan Brooks and Tyler Brooks; and her Miniature Labradoodle, Rollo.
Visitation will be held at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S Memorial Dr. in New Castle, IN
from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with interment following at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition immediately following the service.
