Kay Conway Miller, age 74, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Ambassador Health Center in Centerville, Indiana. He was born March 31, 1937 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Weldon and Helen (Mathis) Miller.
A lifelong resident of New Castle, he retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1992 as an electrician after 32 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in New Castle, and had coached Little League football from 1971-1975, and 7th grade football from 1973-1974, with all teams completing their seasons undefeated. Kay was also an avid golfer and also held the high jump record at Ball State University for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Shock) Miller of New Castle; children, Timothy Brian Miller of Stafford, TX and Tawnya Kae (husband, Michael) Armstrong of New Castle; grandchildren, Brittany Elise (husband, Kyle) Watson of New Castle, Audry Rachel Miller and Ross Allyn Miller, both of Houston, TX, Kasey Marie Armstrong and Adam Michael Armstrong both of New Castle; sister, Donna (husband, Jim) Dumler of Cincinnati; brother-in-law, Reverend James Farrel (wife, Ronda) Shock of Tega Cay, SC; three nieces, Rhonda Jo (husband, Jim) Addington of Cincinnati, Stacey (husband, David) Sadler of New Castle and Stefanie (husband, Tom) Jeffers of Carmel; two nephews, John Rains of CA and Jay Rains of San Diego, CA; several cousins.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Jim Shock and Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the funeral home.
