Kenneth Lee Emerson

Kenneth Lee Emerson, age 48, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 in his home. Although Ken had suffered from a rare illness and failing health for the past two years, his passing was unexpected. He was born January 18, 1964 in San Bernardino, CA, a son of Trendon and Agnes (Snapp) Emerson.

A 1982 graduate of Tri High School, Ken had Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology and Computer Programming. He was a Master Journeyman Electrician and held several certifications in multiple computer languages. He had been employed at National Cash Register, Cash Register Systems, Chrysler Corporation and Nestle.

Ken and his wife, Linda, had been blessed with two wonderful children and they are what Ken has been the most proud of during his life. He enjoyed spending time at home with his family and their dogs. His favorite place to vacation was Disney World. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed riding his Harley, driving his Challenger, golfing, doing projects around home, working with computers and playing video and computer games.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda L. (Bogue) Emerson of Spiceland, whom he married August 15, 1987; their children, Zach (fiancé, Kaitlyn Thompson) Emerson, a student at Ball State University in Muncie, and Alyse Emerson, at home; his mother, Agnes Emerson of Spiceland; two sisters, Kay (husband, John) Sullivan of Arizona and Tina (husband, Leon) Loveless of New Castle; a brother, Allan (companion, Ellen) Emerson of New Mexico; several nieces and nephews, Taylor and Aubrey Boyd, Scott (wife, Jennifer) Loveless, Will (wife, Stacey) Loveless, Christopher, Jacob, and Dejah Emerson, Justin, Danielle, and Shannon Sullivan; his in-laws, Wayne and Pat Bogue of Spiceland; sister-in-law, Mandy (husband, Marcus) Boyd of Spiceland.

He was preceded in death by his father, Trendon Emerson, grandparents, Asa Emerson, Irene (Davis) Emerson Cunningham, Jesse Snapp and Francie (Glascock) Snapp.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Cathy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to Moore Love Animal Rescue, 808 S.E.
