Kevin W. Cook

March 10, 1964 — October 14, 2024

New Castle

Kevin W. Cook, 60, of New Castle, passed away Monday evening at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born March 10, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida, a son of the late Donald E. Cook and Elizabeth E. Smith. Kevin graduated from high school in Lebanon, IN, and attended college at IUPUI. He worked in construction sales for several years and enjoyed his time as a security guard for the Indiana Pacers games.

A professional boxer, he was a Golden Gloves champion, had boxed in Denmark, but most of all he loved Rock Steady Boxing, a Parkinson’s Boxing Gym in Indianapolis. Kevin was boisterous and larger than life. He would often be playing cards with his friends, and would never miss a Colts game on Sunday.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two children, Myles Cook of Sarasota, FL, and Madyson Cook of New Castle; one grandson, Carson Cook of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Barb (Walter) Norton of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Mike (Denise) Cook of Lizton, and Richard Cook of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews. Kevin is also survived by David Baker of Indianapolis, as well as a long list of loving friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Cook.

Cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no public services. Celebration of life information will be shared by the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Rock Steady Boxing in honor of Kevin’s memory. Donations can be given at https://rocksteadyboxing.org/make-a-donation/ .
