L. Inez York

L. Inez York, age 94, of New Castle, Indiana, entered into eternal life Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born October 7, 1918 in Collierville, Tennessee to the late Joseph A. and Lillie (Cameron) Tarpley.

Inez worked at J I Case Company and Sears before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Castle and enjoyed spending leisurely time with her family and friends, sewing, crossword puzzles, and reading.

She is survived by her son, Michael E. York (fiancé Tish Jones) of New Castle; three grandchildren (Michael R. York of Fishers, Indiana, Rachael Brown of Carthage, Indiana, and Bobby Brown (wife Amber) of Connersville, Indiana; two great-grandchildren (Marty Brown and Mason Brown); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Roy E. York, six sisters and five brothers.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Brother Bobby Slagle officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the funeral home.
