Larry Robert Jester

Larry Robert Jester, 73, a resident of Mooreland passed away Tuesday morning, December 15, 2015 at home. He was born June 27, 1942 in New Castle to the late Charles Robert and Wilma Jean (Semler) Jester.

A 1960 graduate of Mooreland High School, Larry retired from Fisher Guide in Anderson after 28 years of service. A lifelong farmer, he enjoyed working with his cattle, and farming the land. He was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau, where he had served on the board. Larry was a big supporter of Henry County 4-H. Having a float in the Mooreland Fair Parade was very important to him and he enjoyed participating in the tractor pulls as well. He collected Farmall tractors and was an avid IU Basketball fan. Larry was an amazing man, who loved his family dearly. A very selfless individual, he always put everyone else before himself.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years: Bobetta D. Jester of Mooreland; two children: Michelle (Mark) Sheard of Richmond, and Rod (Karla) Jester of Losantville; five grandchildren, Jake Sheard of Anderson, Amanda Sheard of Richmond, Brittany (Tony) Martin of Fountain City, Megan (Bon) Disborough of New Castle and Kara Jester of Losantville; three great-grandchildren: Maddison Disborough, Tucker Martin and Aiden “Bruiser” Disborough; three brothers: Phil (Marlene) Jester of Losantville, Dave (Sue) Jester and Mark (Dareth) Jester, both of Mooreland; several nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Dan Edington.

Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Thomas Current officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, December 18, 2015 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
