Laura Dukes

Laura Dukes, 76, of Knightstown passed away on Thursday September 5, 2024, at Ball Hospital in Muncie. She was born on May 19, 1948, in Prairie du Chien, WI to the late Loren and Marjorie Ross.

Originally from Wisconsin Laura moved to Tampa Florida in her early 20’s then made her home in Indiana for the last 8 years. She was a baker at Publix Supermarket for over 10 years before retiring. Laura believed her greatest accomplishments were her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was a very independent woman. She loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sitting outside getting fresh air and her Diet Pepsi.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Margo (Anthony) Tanzi; grandchildren, Erica (Kyle) Query, Mark (Stephanie) Dukes Jr., Brittany (Jalen Penkal) Dukes, Mitchell (Aysha) Dukes, Stephanie Dukes, Kyle (Gabrielle) Dukes and Kayla (Cameron) Stauffer; great grandchildren, Maleah Hoover, Braxton Query, Kaiya Query, Katie Dukes, Mason Dukes, Adrian Dukes, Aubree Guglielmo, Brielle Guglielmo, Ava Guglielmo, Amanilia Dukes, Alexander Dukes, Olvia Dukes, Ryleigh Dukes, Marlee Dukes, Kinsley Stauffer, Marissa Quadrini, Avaya Barker and Sawyer Brumm; daughters-in-law, Gayle Dukes and Donna Dukes, sisters, Ramona Sedmeyer and Leta (Wayne) Duncan; brother, Nelson (Debbie) Ross; sister-in-law, Mary Ross.

In addition to her parents, Laura is preceded in death by her sons, Jason Dukes and Mark Dukes Sr.; brothers, Alan Ross and Loren Jay Ross; sister-in-law, Donna Ross.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.
