Lavada Gayle Wilson, 74, of Carthage passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at Hancock Regional Hospital following an extended illness. She was born April 6, 1935 in Indianapolis the daughter of Paul and Artie (Conner) Clevidence.
Lavada was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilt making, embroidery and took part in a weekly sewing club. She also enjoyed taking care of her plants. Lavada loved her family and liked spending time with all of them.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years: Eugene Wilson of Carthage; two sons: Bruce (wife: Joanie) Wilson of Carthage and Mike (fiance: Tammy Reynolds) Wilson of Carthage; three grandchildren: Lindsay (husband: John) York of Connersville; Erik Wilson of Carthage; Patrick Wilson of Carthage; two step grandchildren: Thomas and Brian Linville; five great grandchildren: Aaron McDonald, John, Alex, Adam and Madison York; five step great grandchildren: Kristina, Christian, Colten, Aaron and Ethan Linville; a God-daughter: Cathy Jones of Rome, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Robin Wilson; and two grandchildren: Kristen and Noah Wilson.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor David Bonne officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday, June 2. Online condolences may be made at
