Lawrence "Kenny" Prosser

Lawrence "Kenny" Prosser, 72, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 6, 1941 in New Castle the son of Lawrence Delbert and Letha Kenneth (McCracken) Prosser.

A 1961 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, he was a member of the Moose Lodge and retired from Busters Cement after 32 years of service. He had also worked for Jarrett's Grocery Store. Kenny was a member of the National Cushman Club of America and loved working on and collecting Cushman Motor Scooters. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking and was also a member of the Vintage Motor Bike Club.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Carol J. Prosser of New Castle; children: Carol Ann Rains (John Hinkle) of New Castle, Peggy S. Prosser of New Castle, Ruth E. Gard of New Castle: step-daughters: Jama (Rob) Wisehart of New Castle, Robin (Jeff) Pennington of New Castle, Carol Annette Gregory of New Castle, Allison (David) Todd of New Castle; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Ardella Jarrett, Vivian Hayes, Patricia Munn and an infant sister.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor David Perry and Reverend James Judd officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
