Lela May Shore, 80, of Mooreland, passed away Monday at her residence following an extended illness. She was born June 7, 1933 in Mooreland, the daughter of Donald and Lena (McCray) Walker.
A 1950 graduate of Mooreland High School, she retired from Dana Corporation in Hagerstown after 32 years of service. She was a member of Eastern Star, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and Shriners Auxiliary. She was a member of the South Christian Church in Mooreland and more recently attended New Testament Church of Christ in Hagerstown. She loved music and played several instruments. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband: Carl Shore of Mooreland whom she married December 23, 1950; four children: Connie Sue (Roger) Morris of Hagerstown, Cathy (Kenneth) Teague of Hagerstown, Carol (Bob) Huffine of Mooreland, Ike (Dana) Shore of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren: Stacey Morris, Todd (Darcy) Morris, Amanda (Scott) Study, Kylee (Marty) Bowling, Krista Teague, Amber (David) Blevins, Derrek Huffine, Carrie (Chris) Pruitt, Jake (Jamie) Shore; and ten great grandchildren;
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Joe and George Walker.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Paul Gearhardt officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery.
