Lena C Brown

Lena C. Brown, 96, of New Castle passed away Sunday, June 09, 2013 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born July 12, 1916 in Switzerland County, Indiana a daughter of the late Harry and Hulda (Moreillon) Campbell.

She graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1934. Lena worked at the U.S. Shoe Company in Harrison, Ohio and the Ohio County Health Department until 1986. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle, and was also a member of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, where she was the church treasurer and pianist for many years.

Survivors include one son: Harold W. (wife, Rita) Brown of Greenfield; two grandsons: Kevin (wife, Bonnie) Brown of Elmhurst, Illinois and Darin (wife, Pam) Brown of New Castle one granddaughter: Heather (husband, David) Bruns of Fishers; six great grandchildren and several cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Leroy Brown in 1972; a daughter-in-law: Jane Brown in 1990.

Services will be 7:00 p.m Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Danny Goddard officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1727 Grand Avenue, New Castle, IN 47362.
