Lena Mae Carr

Lena Mae Garris Carr, 93, of Spiceland, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Hickory Creek Health Center in New Castle. She was born March 8, 1917 in Bentonville the daughter of Clifford and Amanda (Johnson) Garris.
She retired from Draper’s, Inc in 1974 after working there many years. She was an active member of the Spiceland Friends Meeting. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and cooking.
She is survived by two nephews: Bart (wife: Nancy) Benjamin of Macedonia, OH; and Fran (wife: Wendy) Benjamin of Oregon; good friend: Walt Clay of Spiceland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years: Lawrence V. Carr and a sister: Mary Garris.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, February 18, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Cathy Harris and Richard Ratcliff officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service.
