Leo G. “Bo” Egan, 84, of Grant City passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born March 7, 1939 in Grant City a son of Jesse and Grace (Plank) Egan.
Bo attended Knightstown High School and retired from Kahlo after working 55 years as a mechanic at several different dealerships. He loved going to the races at Mt. Lawn and Anderson Speedways. He enjoyed tinkering with his lawnmower, keeping his yard and cars in pristine condition. Bo loved watching the hummingbirds out his window, sitting in his swing watching the cars go by and was the self appointed Mayor of Grant City. He loved helping take care of his only great granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shelby Jean Egan of Grant City; daughters, Tina (Jon) Davis of New Castle and Lorri (Rusty) Egan of Knightstown; grandchildren, Jessica Davis of Knightstown, Maggie Gross and Tucker Gross of Knightstown; great granddaughter, Averie Smith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Huelon and Shirley Anderson of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ora, Art, Clyde, Herb, Elmer, Leon (Bo’s twin), Ronnie, Vesta, Faye, Edna, Thelma, Betty Lou and Blanch. Bo was the last survivor of 14 children.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Tony Darling officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Monday. Condolences and memories of Bo may be shared at
