Leona Mae Pritchard

Leona Mae Pritchard, 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 4, 1942 in Yamacraw, Kentucky to the late Walker and Ethel (Slaven) Godsey.

She was a homemaker all her life. Leona loved caring for and helping children. She was a member of East 16th Street Church of God in Muncie for 27 years. Leona enjoyed collecting dolls, crafting and was a seamstress. She also enjoyed cooking, especially pies, genealogy, traveling and has been to all of the lower 48 states.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Ronnie H. Pritchard; children, Vernon Mark (Joye) Pritchard and Ronda Pritchard; grandchildren, Lindsey Pritchard, Ryan (Brooke) Pritchard, James “JR” (Amy) Emerson, Billy Emerson, Tara Emerson and Ann Emerson; great grandchildren, Mason Emerson, Delaney Emerson and Eleanora Pritchard; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Day-Pritchard; a special niece, Cindy Glaub and other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Wayne Pritchard; and two brothers, Glen Godsey and Everett Godsey.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Douglas Lucy officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Visitation will be from noon until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
