Leslie “Ben” Paul, age 84, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Centre. He was born December 5, 1927 in Liberal, Kansas to the late Leslie Leon and Leona (Utt) Paul.
Ben was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Chrysler Corporation following 30 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed playing music on his guitar. Ben had most recently attended Crossroad Church in New Castle.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth (wife, Charlotte) Paul of Ringgold, GA; two daughters, Karen Reasoner and Janice Paul both of New Castle; grandchildren, Chris Paul of GA, Kristi Cooper of Indianapolis, Melissa (husband, Ronnie) Heaton of North Vernon, Scott (wife, Kim) Reasoner of New Castle, and Heather La Bella of CA; great grandchildren, Hannah, Brian and Chloe of GA and Faith and Chase Heaton both of North Vernon; sisters, Pauline Gambill of Linton and Alice (husband, Joe) Clark of FL; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Paul; two brothers, Leon and Joe Paul; sister, Grace Clark; son-in-law, Jody Reasoner.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the local American Legion Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
