Linda D. Baker, age 64, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. She was born June 11, 1948 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Clyde and Maggie (Haney) Goolsby.
She was employed at GEO in New Castle and previously had worked at Heidrich Petroleum for many years. She had also worked at INTAT. She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing BINGO, reading and caring for others.
Survivors include five children, Shaumarie Garza Pierson of Greensfork, IN, Dawn Garza Sexton of CA, Tanya Erb Moffitt of Jacksonburg, Joshua King-Baker of New Castle and Amanda Baker of Jacksonburg; seven grandchildren, James Ramsey, Alan Sexton, Samantha Sexton, Meagen Beckemeier, Mariha Sexton, Chris Sexton and Noah Leismer; three great grandchildren, James Ramsey, Jr., Kiara Pribble, and Haylee Ramsey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Goolsby; sister, Janice Goolsby Blake; great grandson, Jaylen; former husband, Darrell Baker.
Services will be at 1:00 P.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
