Linda Gayle Egan, 75, who was known as “Nanny” to all, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Friday, November 15, 2024 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 28, 1949 in Muncie, a daughter of the late Paul and Janice (Thalls) Hinesley.
A 1967 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School, she was an amazing, loving, and selfless person, who would do anything for anyone at any time. She could make anyone laugh or smile without trying and had a great sense of humor. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and working puzzles. Above all, she loved her family and loved spending as much time with them as possible while also making anyone around her feel like part of the family. Her dog, Charlie, was her constant fur baby companion.
During her treatments and multiple hospitalizations, she never forgot to share her love of Jesus Christ and her belief. She was driven by a passion to help others and believed the world could always use one more kind-hearted person. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - " And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
She leaves to cherish her memory of her loving husband who never once left her side and continuously cared for her for over 45 years, Rick Egan of Muncie; a daughter, Tricia Stanley (Billy Anderson) of Muncie, a son, Paul (Natalie) Lowery of Greenfield; a special friend who was like a daughter, Misty Fulton (Tim Groce); four grandchildren, Hannah Stanley (Aaron Jones), Shiane (Jose) Dimas, Dylan Lowery and Conner Lowery; great grandchildren, Eric Dimas, Alejandro Dimas, Ashlynn Jones, Ava Jones, Amare Jones; three sisters, Paula Nyberg, Risa Jones, and Cheryl (John) Jackson; a brother, Ronnie (Diane) Hinesley; brother in law, Wayne Egan; sister in law, Sue Charles; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Father, Paul Hinesley; Mother, Janice Jones, Stepfather, Don Jones; Mother in law, Sarah Egan; Father in law, Ora Egan; Step Brother, Trent Jones, Brother-in-law, Pat McAlister and Special friends, Bill and Bonnie McCarty.
Cremation rights will be accorded, and the family will announce plans for a Celebration of Life on November 24th from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Courtyard Marriott, 601 S High St, Muncie, IN 47305. You may share condolences and memories at www.hinsey-brown.com
