Linda Higgs

Linda Higgs went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023 at Ball Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born July 15th, 1961 to the late Ronald Jones and Geraldine "Gerri" Jones. who lives in Mt. Summit.

Growing up, she was the oldest of three children and attended Blue River Valley High School where she graduated in 1979. She also attended IU where she received a degree in Criminal Justice. Linda worked for the Henry County Sheriff’s department as a jailer for many years. She also worked at Marilyn’s Flowers and Bill's Dinner in New Castle, where she met her loving husband of twenty years, Mike Higgs. Linda was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years where she volunteered in the nursery, taught Sunday school and also cleaned the teen building.

In addition to her husband, Linda was blessed with 3 children: daughter, Angela Trieschman (husband, Bryan) of New Castle, daughter, Dyanna Abner of Kentucky and son Charles Jones of New Castle. Linda was also blessed with many grandchildren: Cheyenne Trieschman, Alyssa Trieschman, Joshua Trieschman, Carmella Trieschman and Leah Trieschman, of New Castle, Kira Garrett and Diesel of Kentucky, Noah Jones, Gavin Jones and Jaxon Jones, of New Castle and one great-granddaughter, Elaina Wilch of New Castle.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Jones and her two sisters, Tammy Jones and Kimberly Stewart.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Danny Goddard officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
