Linda M. Southerland, 70, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012, in Henry County Hospital following an extended illness. She was born November 15, 1941 in Maryville, TN, the daughter of the late James Henry and Mary Pearl (Miller) Southerland.
A lifelong New Castle resident, she was employed at Rays Drive-In for over 14 years.
She is survived by a step-brother, Sammy (Rita) Southerland of New Castle; two very special cousins, who looked after her, Christiana Hormann and Mary Hearon, both of Ooltewah, TN; two step-nephews, one step-niece, and many other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Henry Southerland in 1970, and her mother, Mary Pearl Southerland in 1999; a step-brother, Frank Southerland, and a step-sister, Eula Jean Graham.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Gary Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
