Lois Ann Hicks

Lois Ann Hicks, age 76, passed away March 13, 2024, at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle, Indiana. She was born July 8, 1947 in Albany, Kentucky, a daughter of the late, Leonard and Kate (Guffey) Losey.

Lois was a 1966 graduate of Blue River High School. She loved everyone and everyone loved Lois. She especially loved her family and spending time with them and had a special place in her heart for babies. She spent her working years delivering newspapers for the New Castle Courier Times and the Indianapolis Star, and also babysitting many family members. Lois loved going to church and for the past 10 years, had attended Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church in Spiceland.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Connie Lewis of New Castle; grandchildren, Faith (fiancé; Gage Wysong) Lewis of New Castle and Ethan Lewis of New Castle; sister, Wanda Denny of New Castle; brother, Leonard Losey Jr. of New Castle; brother-in-law, Neal Jakes of New Castle; sister-in-law, Connie Losey of Mooreland; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hicks; a son, Jeff Hicks; stepdaughter, Tina Taylor; sisters, Linda Delk, Gearlean Lowder, Joyce Rains and Kathy Jakes; brother, Paul Losey.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 18, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor David Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the funeral home.
