Lois F. Kendall, 90, of New Castle, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was only 1 month from her 91st birthday.
She was born to John and Mamie Goudy on their farm near Kennard and graduated from Cadiz High School. Lois belonged to the First Friends Meeting in New Castle for several years.
After all her children were in school, she worked for the food service in the New Castle school system. Later, she became a supervisor in the kitchens at the New Castle State Hospital.
She always had a beautiful garden of flowers at her home, and she took great joy in helping with the flowers at Glen Oaks where she lived.
She will be missed by a daughter Barbara Unger and son-in-law Kent Unger of Bloomington, her son Howard Kendall and daughter-in-law Dana of Indianapolis, her daughter-in-law Anita Kendall of Connersville, her sister Annie Davis of Pendleton, and several nieces and nephews.
Lois was blessed with four grandsons, Ryan Unger of Staten Island, NY, Aaron Unger living in Stuttgart, Germany, Quincy Kendall from Chicago and Jacob Kendall of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, a brother Tommy Goudy, a sister Betty Wooten, a son Andy Kendall and her husband of 59 years, Rex Kendall.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Rick Schoeff officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memories and condolences of Lois may be shared at
