Lonnie Dale "Buck" York, 68, of New Castle died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born April 9, 1945 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Otha and Nancy (Sidwell) York.
Lonnie retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle and enjoyed playing bingo, watching Nascar, especially his favorite driver Tony Stewart, and University of Kentucky basketball. He loved spending time with his family and friends and greatly missed his great-nephew Jackson York. He also enjoyed his dog: Abigail, who was his constant companion.
Survivors include, a brother: David (wife: Julie) York of New Castle; 6 nephews: Matt (wife: Ashley) York of New Castle, Brian, Tim, Kevin, Mike, and Chad Dale all of Hagerstown; a great-niece: Rylie York of New Castle; and very close friends: Edward and Marilyn Johnson and Ron and Pam Broyles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Richard York; a sister: Shirley Dale; a brother-in-law: Wendell Dale; a nephew: Christopher York; and a great-nephew: Jackson York.
Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 5pm - 7pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
