Lorene S. Larrimore

Lorene S. Larrimore, 92, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in New Castle, Indiana on January 15, 2025. She was born in Tateville, Kentucky on September 9, 1932, to Bertha D. (Cox) Stigall and John Thomas Stigall.

Lorene was employed for many years at Western Electric Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. She enjoyed floral design and loved gardening, always having the most beautiful yard on her block. Cooking, canning, and baking were among her other favorite things; and the entire family enjoyed her excellent southern cooking. She loved Christmas and went all out every year spending weeks decorating, cooking, and baking to make Christmas Eve special.

Lorene was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. 

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Wanda Sue (Wiley) Shrum, Jasper, Tennessee, Alice Faye (Doug) Reece, Spiceland, Indiana, and Norma Jean (David) Lee, New Castle, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Conquest, Franklin, Tennessee, Julia Ratcliff-Bouslog (Scott), Spiceland, Indiana, Angela Larrimore, Jasper, Tennessee, Mark (Dodie) Reece, Knightstown, Indiana, Tina (Michael) Abrams, Spiceland, Indiana, Sean (Tracy) Smith, Lewisville, Indiana, and Chad Lee, Tampa, Florida; twelve great grandchildren, Ashlee (Kirkland) Hill, Alexandra Larrimore, Darian Smith, Lauren Bouslog, Maddy Abrams, Christian Smith, Mason Abrams, Jesse Conquest, Keenan Reece, Korban Reece, Kyran Reece, and Kastan Reece; two great-great grandchildren, Peyton Hill and Parker Hill; sister Alice Shelton and many nieces and nephews.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard C. Larrimore, daughters Joyce Ann Neal and Valorie Kay Neal Ratcliff, son-in-law Thomas Ratcliff, grandson Paul Reece, granddaughter Jennifer Ratcliff, brothers Earl, David and Thomas, sisters Eva, Josephine, Lucy, Marie, and Ellen.

Lorene’s family would like to thank Henry County Hospice and her special friend Peggy York.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will be at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland, Indiana.
