Lottie Bell Hoots, age 76, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Henry County Hospital. She was born November 15, 1932 in Burkesville, Kentucky to the late Will and Ola (Bow) Long.
She was a 1950 graduate of Burkesville High School in Burkesville, Kentucky. Lottie retired from New Castle Chrysler High School cafeteria in 2000 after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ in Burkesville, Kentucky and was also a member of the New Castle Order of Eastern Star #191. She loved to cook, sew and go to rummage sales. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. A special thanks is extended to Henry County Hospital doctors, nurses and home health care nurses.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years: Alvis G. Hoots of New Castle; a daughter: Pamela A. Hoots of Anderson; two grandchildren: Ray (wife: Kim) Caywood, Jr. of New Castle and Amber Caywood of Anderson; a great granddaughter: Lee Lee Davis of Anderson; an adopted grandson: John Fletcher of New Castle; two nephews: David (wife: Sheila) McKinney of Liberty, KY and Joe Scott and wife of Louisville, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Nell McKinney and Mae Scott; great granddaughter: Amari Ny Rae Caywood.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Bro. Bobby Slagle officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at
