Louise N. Carnes, age 81, of Spiceland, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Henry County Hospital. She was born September 18, 1930 in Laager, Tennessee, to the late Pete and Abbie Nunley.
She retired from Bridgestone Firestone Corporation in Noblesville in 1986 after 30 years of service. She loved spending Sunday’s with her family, gardening and listening to Blue Grass music.
Survivors include her, children, Gayle (husband, Bill) Lester of Spiceland, Phyllis (husband, David) Knepley of Greensboro, Beverly Cleek of Anderson, and Russell Cleek of Greensboro; stepson, David Brent (wife, Leann) Carnes of Shirley; daughter-in-law, Linda Cleek of Greensboro; siblings, Marie Shrum of Modoc, Eddie Vincent of Mooreland, Rudolph (wife, Hazel) Nunley of Modoc, J.W. (wife, Judy) Nunley of Losantville, Paul (wife, Tracy) Nunley of Mooreland, Francis (wife, Judy) Nunley of Modoc, and Stanley (wife, Teresa) Nunley of Greenfield; brothers-in-law, Cordell Carnes and Homer Carnes; sister-in-law, Lois Davis; grandchildren, Melissa (husband, David) Busby, Carla Lester (fiance, Tracy Denney), Autumn (husband, Jimmy) Jessie, Todd (wife, Debbie) Cleek, Brent Cleek, Brandon Cleek, Scott (wife, Stephanie) Knepley, Mickel Knepley (companion, Pamela), Lindsay (husband, Michael) Syrus, Kaunner Cleek and Jay Cleek; step grandchildren, Destiny Carnes, Abriana Carnes and Kamelia Carnes; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; close family friend, Linda Richey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Carnes; son, Lonnie Cleek.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Hicksite Cemetery in Greensboro. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Little Red Door, 401 W.
