Lucy J. Franklin

Lucy J. Franklin, 92, of New Castle went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at IU Health Ball Hospital. She was born February 21, 1932 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Abe and Sally (Henniger) Brown.

Lucy was a devoted homemaker all her life and loved caring for her family, making sure all their needs were met. She was a longtime member of Cross Road Church in New Castle and enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She is survived by 3 children, Garry (Kathleen) Franklin, Jack (Terrie) Franklin and Loretta Franklin; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Franklin; a son, Wayne Franklin; 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
