Lula Ward, 81, of New Castle passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born January 24, 1935 in New Castle to the late Tom Dixon and Mary Fay (Chew) Dixon Couch.
Lula had worked at New Castle Chrysler Credit Union from 1965-1981. She loved playing BINGO, CB radios and scrap booking.
She is survived by two children, Chris G. (Debra) Ward of Westfield, Deborah E. Ward of New Castle; thirteen grandchildren, Lindsay (Elvis) Couch, Wendee (Mike) Pickett, Donnell (Kenny) Boykin, Jessica (Joe) Downs, Cory Ward, Jessica Ward, Damian Ward, Derek Ward, Dylan Ward, Mitch Ward, Jo Ellen Ward, Willard Freeman II and Brent Freeman; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Marvin Dixon, Louellen “Sis” Smith, Bonnie Knopp, Roy Couch, Mike Couch, Mary Jane Fellars, J. C. Couch, Weldon Couch; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, James Dixon.
