Luva M. Pope, 94 of Muncie and formerly of Mooreland died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born November 28, 1916 in Mooreland, a daughter of the late Herman Hoover and Myrtle (Friar) Hoover.
A lifetime resident of Mooreland, she lived in her birth place home for over 73 years. She was a Mooreland High School graduate and had worked at the Mooreland School Cafeteria. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mooreland and the Christian Women United. She loved sewing, making over 119 comforters for her church, and also cooking and making pies.
Survivors include a son: Bob (wife: Barbara) Pope of Muncie; a daughter: Wilma “Willie” Glaser of Losantville; 4 grandchildren: Vicki Robertson of Muncie, Perry Pope of Carthage, MO, Chris Glaser of Kirklin, IN, Todd (wife: Heather) Glaser of Springport, 8 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; two sisters: Beulah Bales of New Castle and Vera Cross of Muncie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Russell Pope.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service New Castle with Pastor Nathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services Monday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service.
