Lynn Allison Farmer, 59, of New Castle passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis surrounded by family. She was born January 30, 1952 in Richmond, Indiana, a daughter of Alva and Janice (Heath) Richardson.
A 1970 Centerville High School graduate, she received her degree as a medical lab technologist from Ivy Tech. Lynn retired from Henry County Hospital after seventeen years of service and was currently employed by Mid America Clinical Labs at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital for the past 25 years as a lab tech. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Richmond. Her favorite color was purple and she loved movies, eating out, traveling and her grandchildren. She was a member of the local Red Hat group of New Castle.
Survivors include her parents: Alva and Janice Richardson of Centerville; two sons: Scott (wife, Angela) Farmer of Markleville, and Brian (fiancé: Jonnelle Bullock) Farmer of New Castle; five grandchildren: Jeremiah Farmer, Joshua Farmer, Audree Farmer, Kimberlee Farmer, and Braxton Farmer; siblings: Leslie (husband, Jerry) Kelley of Indianapolis, Sandy (husband, Karl) Elsrod of Centerville, and Susan (husband, Tom) Rohe of Centerville; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a special friend, Mike Imel of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Alden C. Farmer, Jr.; a nephew: David K. Elsrod and her paternal & maternal grandparents.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with cousin, Pastor Ladona Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Susan G.
